downloading maps and displaying in basecampI

I've read the tutorials, downloaded basecamp and mapsource and then download CA. andWy. maps but can not find them on basedcamp.  I tried view and map product but nothing there.  Did i need to download the maps to a specific folder or have i missed some simple "everybody knows this" step?

If you've read the tutorials, you know that you need to run the installers.
If they still don't show load a copy of MyTrails.

If you are using Windows7 on a 64-bit PC, you will need to install a mapset which used a 32-bit installer.  If so, uninstall CA & WY, then as Seldom mentioned download and install 'My trails..' (it is small and you may find the data usefull), then install CA & WY.  Do the installs with MS and BC closed as they only check for mapsets when they are started.
