garmin topo 24k not seen in basecamp

Just loaded the Garmin topo 24k southeast dvd on my computer
Will work in mapsource  but will not run in basecamp.
when selected from the drop down menu the following  comes up.
"An error occurred when attempting to use topo us 24k southeast product"
Disk only has a serial number no unlock code.
Help please

You should let Garmin know about this.
