Garmin 60cx microsd/map probelm

Every time I load a map onto my micro sd my gps will turn on and display the map just fine. Everything seems to work until I turn off the unit, then it won't turn back on unless I remove ten replace the batteries. Once I do this, it all works fine again, as long as I dont turn it off.

This problem goes away if I take out the card or if I remove the maps from it.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a hardware issue you need to call Garmin about.

well I called Garmin and it is not a hardware problem, it's a map issues. Something in the "Alabama Topo" is causing the the unit to lock up on shutdown where it never turns all the way off.

the fix - get rid of the map. Problem solved.
