TOPO Maps are not showing up on my GPS

I'm going crazy.....
I've had this GPS for 7 months and initially was able to load the Southwest TOPO maps and all was fine. (Although I remember it taking awhile to figure it out then also).  Somehow the topo maps on the GPS stopped working and all I had was the Trip and waypoints that came w/ it.
At this point I've reformatted the micro SD card and started over.

I have a Garmin Etrex Legend HCX equipped w/ a 4gb micro sd card
Using your instructions:

- I've downloaded the Arizona TOPO map from the site into Mapsource.
- In Mapsource I highlighted the entire state and transferred/send to Device.  Is says it was successful.
- No Topo is visible on the GPS, only the Trips and Waypoints
- I put the Garmin into  mass storage mode to check for files (setup/interface/usb mass storage)
- one file is in the root directory (20100722.gpx   0 kb)
- one file is in a directory Garmin (gmapsupp.img 226,984 kb)

can you offer any suggestions?
Thanks

It's almost as if the GPSr is not seing the Micro-SD Card??

The unit has a built in general world map.
Trip & Waypoint Manager is software which goes on the computer and includes MapSource which is used to transfer map data and also routes, waypoints, etc. to and from the GPSr.
If you unit works like the 76csx do: on map page, menu, setup map, enter, information, menu. Is  the AZ mapset listed and does it say 'hide' or disable?  This is the action you can take; the current display state is the opposite.
